The challenge of air circulation
Bearings in industrial fans operate at high speeds and under relatively light radial loads. These bearings may also operate in extremely hot or cold conditions, or in locations where maintenance is not easy. Fan air is often used to transport materials. Over time, the material will stick to the impeller, causing an imbalance, and even reduce the normal operating time and service life of the fan.
XIR can help
The challenges of these operating conditions place high performance demands on fan bearing configurations. XIR solves these problems. Based on extensive field experience, XIR has developed a range of solutions for industrial fans and HVAC systems. These solutions increase cost effectiveness and enable trouble-free operation.
No two application situations are exactly the same
It's an obvious concept, but one that guides everything we do. You can rely on XIR to design products and repair services to meet your unique requirements in your application and under specific conditions. We do this through the adoption of new technologies and the accumulation of comprehensive application knowledge and experience. Our goal is to increase customer value and achieve a more efficient profitability process.
Industrial high performance heat blower
Increase speed without expensive fan upgrades
The higher the fan speed, the more heat the bearing generates. If you want to achieve and maintain high speed operation, sometimes you may need to upgrade the lubrication of your fan: you may have to upgrade to the more expensive oil bath lubrication, or even the more expensive circulating oil lubrication.
However, in some cases, the speed can be increased without changing the lubrication method. The self-aligning bearing system for XIR industrial and thermal fans allows for higher speeds to help you deal with these issues. Optimised combined parts without expensive lubrication upgrades, XIR full shafting solutions extend refill lubrication intervals, reduce energy consumption and increase reliability for grease - and oil-lubricated fans.
XIR self-aligning bearing system
Excellent solution for shaft alignment error
Industrial fans usually operate at high speed and light load. High speed may lead to high bearing temperature. In addition, the fan itself may also produce high process temperatures, which are then transmitted to the fan shaft. This may result in large axial expansion of the shaft. The expansion of the middle suspension shaft may be large, and the bearing is located on the opposite side of the impeller.
The solution for fan applications has always been the use of self-aligning ball bearings or spherical roller bearings for both fixed and non-fixed ends of the bearing system. That is to say, the non-fixed end bearing must be able to move freely axially in the bearing seat hole, so once stuck occurs, there will be problems. Clogged bearings can result in increased load on the bearing, higher temperature and greater axial vibration.
Today, XIR offers self-aligning bearing configurations, including fixed-end self-aligning ball bearings or spherical roller bearings and non-fixed-end CARB ring roller bearings. The CARB is fixed on the shaft and axially fixed in the bearing seat. The axial expansion or contraction of the shaft is absorbed inside the CARB bearing.
This self-aligning bearing configuration is ideal for high speed, light load fans.
CARB bearings and auxiliary self-aligning ball bearings or spherical roller bearings can optionally be installed in split housings with ISO K7 hole tolerances. In the case of unbalanced fan impeller height, this prevents the bearing outer ring from rotating in its bearing seat. Using an ISO K7 bearing housing fit also reduces radial loosening of the fan system, which can lead to vibration and noise.
